Ground Zero mosque tomfoolery

It appears the hot topic of an Islamic group proposing to build a mosque at Ground Zero in NYC has become even hotter while I was away, therefore I feel this issue should come first and foremost in my splash back into the blogosphere.

I'm not going to delve into all the minor details. I'm going to state my opinions and let that be that.

First and foremost, I hate the religion of Islam. I believe it is a cult that has been driven by violence and sexually charged incentives since its inception. Read a little bit about Mohammad and then forge your opinion of the virus known as Islam. That said, are all Muslims bad? Obviously not. There are plenty of decent, level headed Muslims out there.

Second, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the proposal by this Islamic group to build their Islamic center at the very same spot where their religion slaughtered 3000 people is in extremely bad taste. Can someone please explain to me what exactly is behind this reasoning? Is it deliberate? Who knows. But I am going to say here loud and clear for all to hear that any person who feels there is absolutely nothing wrong with a mosque being built on that hallowed ground is a lunatic, a bastard, and a mountainous heap of human waste.

It pisses me off to no end to even be reading about such a story. It is an outrage. It is preposterous to unfathomable levels.

But....

Let's not get carried away with a witch hunt against Muslims here. What makes America so great? Freedom! No matter who you are. Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Atheist. Everyone should have the freedom to pursue their dreams and desires in life. I cannot sit here and say I uphold and revere the American values of freedom and individual liberty and at the same time say these Muslims should be prohibited from building their cult center. Go ahead and let them build it.

Better that, then to sacrifice American ideals, which is worse than any one terrorist attack.
