When I first received my Amalfi print Barcelona dress I was upset, I felt like it didn't fit well and that didn't bode well for future pop up shop purchases. I had owned the original Barcelona in the rosebud print (now a staple of Alison Lewis - as its hanging in her closet) but it never fit quite right. Maybe it was the pattern throwing the dress off (the rosebud was sweet, maybe too small).
After a quick alteration at Gein's (and the loss of 3 pounds) this dress has become an instant staple in my wardrobe (worn with spanx as it IS a bit clingy). I am glad that I sized up to an 8 (vintage mayle = extra small patterns).
I am wearing it today with my orange flats from spring 2005 and the black kimono cardigan from '05 (so shrunken in the size small that it takes the dress to another level of perfect Saturday casual).
