While I'm going bored out of my gourd, trying to HEAL up inside and out from my recent surgery....
(I decorated the mantel and the table in the front room BEFORE my surgery)
I've been readying the house working on last minute St. Patrick's decorations and food details for our upcoming party this weekend. I'm a bit overwhelmed thinking about it because I can't lift anything major for a while yet. But we have these big strong boys you see...and they will help us out.
We have held a St. Patrick's Day gathering ever since I went to Ireland oh so many years ago.
And because my Father in Law always made my husband's family a "certain" special meal around St. Patrick's and on occasion throughout the year.
Of course we serve the expected fare of "Corned Beef and Cabbage, potatoes, carrots, and potato rolls." Along with whatever else we decide to add in that "seems" green or Irish. HA!
We Mahan's hold a "non alcoholic" party, so there aren't any "Green" beverages.
We have enough silliness as it is.
"Himself and Herself."
While we were in New York this past Christmas....we ate at two Irish Pubs and we also ate Christmas Day dinner at a very popular and renowned Irish "Restaurant" named "Kennedy's."
I will post those photos on this site in the next few days for my "Celebrating Ireland" week here at the "Secret Gardener."
Do come back and help me celebrate!
