Every time the Lakers win this happens. You don't see this type of bullcrap with any other team. Why is it only the Lakers?
Crowds of rowdy revelers poured into the streets around Staples Center after Game 7 of the NBA finals on Thursday night, rocking cars, setting bonfires and throwing rocks and bottles at officers.
Nine people had been arrested for public intoxication, vandalism and inciting a riot, but that number was expected to rise, Los Angeles police spokeswoman Mary Grady said.
"As the crowds left the area, we had some groups that decided to celebrate irresponsibly," she said. "We have certain groups who are starting to cause problems. We are immediately deploying officers where they are needed most."
Television news footage showed several people jumping on a taxi as it attempted to leave the area after the Los Angeles Lakers' 83-79 win over the Boston Celtics. Someone opened a rear door of the vehicle while others rocked it back and forth. The taxi eventually made its way through the crowd and out of the area.
Television footage also showed a man being beaten and a car set on fire. And there were scattered reports of windows being broken at several businesses.
Some men ran shirtless in the street, while other people revved car engines and honked their horns in celebration. Broken glass and burnt debris lined the roads.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said several people were treated for injuries outside the arena. The number and extent of the injuries was not know.
The Lakers, in my opinion, are the most despicable professional sports team in America. I have held this opinion ever since 2000, when the National Basketball Association decided in all its infinite wisdom to officially back the LA Lakers as their favorite, thus receiving favorable calls on the court and bringing in lots of money from Los Angeles's market. I hate the Lakers, always have. And why? First of all, I hate their fans. Keep in mind, this isn't a mass indictment of all Laker fans but based upon observation the majority of Lakers fans are a smattering of celebrity trash, stuck up California citizenry, and overall ghetto thuggery (see story above). One can only assume illegal immigrants make up a large portion of the fanbase, which makes it all the worse. Just look at the photos of the riots. Secondly, the Los Angeles Lakers have been virtually handed at least two of their championships that I can think of. First was in 2000, when the Portland Trailblazers had a 15 point lead in the 4th quarter over the Lakers and the officiating down the stretch was absolutely, without question in favor of LA. I remember it like it was yesterday. Second was in 2002, with the infamous series against Sacramento. I won't go into detail. I'll only say that I knew the games were rigged by crooked NBA officials ever since watching that travesty, which had me literally screaming at the TV nearly the entire series. The Los Angeles Lakers crushed my love for basketball after the glorious Micheal Jordan era in Chicago. I was in love with the NBA. I was in love with the sport. Then the David Stern backed Lakers came along.
Why is it all Mexicans?
The Fakers can have their crooked championship. And they can continue to show the world just how classy they are.
No wonder everyone hates the Lakers.
