Who would have guessed?

I LOVE "Beatrix Potter" and always have.

Who would have guessed.... right?
HA!

I have this "Beatrix Potter Journal" book that I found at a store and the minute I opened it....I just HAD to purchase it. It's fabulous!!

IF you like things like that then you have to see one for yourself.
They have all sorts of photos and replicas of her drawings and illustrations inside of it.

All the favorites of course.....Peter Rabbit, Tom Kitten, Benjamin Bunny, Jemimah Puddleduck and many more characters.

Plus there are hidden pockets, with odd treasures in them.....envelopes with notes tucked in them. All sorts of surprises. I just love stuff like that........especially in a book.

Did you know that Beatrix Potter was a superb "Naturalist"...in fact she started out drawing nature as a child.
Later on in her life, once she became older and had made her "own money" she began to buy farms and land in the Northern part of England called the "Lake District" in order to
"save them." She was a conservationist before it was ever popular.

When Beatrix died......she donated 14 farms and 4000 acres of land to the
"National Trust" in England.

Last year there was a nice little movie made about Beatrix Potter's life. It wasn't all rosy. She had suffered alot of heartbreak in her years.

The movie wasn't a huge "hit" in the theatres in America. In fact it only showed for ONE day here in Baton Rouge. That was odd I thought.

Fortunate for many of us "fans" it came out on DVD pretty fast, so I bought it and
I really liked it.
Well...... "of course I would."

The movie stared "Renee Zellweger, Ewan McGregor." Both who did a great job with their roles. Renee of course, was Beatrix Potter.

Try to find the movie and see it if you can.
You will like it and it's a great "bio-picture."

When "Miss Priss" was little, I used to get these cute little Beatrix Potter Videos for her to watch....they were wonderful.
I finally completed the entire set about 3 years ago so that she can have them one day.

One of our MOST favorite ones is a Christmas story called.......

"The Tailor of Gloucester."

We watch it every year. You have GOT to see it. It's sooooo cute.

I still can recolect the music and some of the lines of the story in my head even now because I've seen it so much.

It's amazing what can get lodged into your mind isn't it?

That's why I love to fill mine with cute stories of bunnies and mice and sweet little creatures that aren't mean to you nor want to bring any harm to the world.

Well.......except for that nasty Mr. Fox who ate Jemimah Puddleducks eggs. Atrocity!

Or that very naughty "Simpkin"
the "Tailor of Gloucester's cat.

Right, and Peter Rabbit who lost his clothes in Mr. MacGregor's garden where he wasn't supposed to be in the first place.

Sigh......

Oh, if life were that simple.
