Fall 2008 Lingerie Forecast

Here's the trend forecast for this year's fall lingerie. They can be pretty much be divided into five different categories depending on their styles:

Jewelbox - lingerie that adopts the colors of precious stones



The Look of Lounge - lingerie that focuses on comfort and casuality



A Wink of Vintae - lingerie that's uh...vintage-inspired



Wild Child - lingerie with improved animal prints



Out of Focus - lingerie go abstract

Body-shapers?

I still don't get why some women love wearing corsets. For one thing, it looks really uncomfortable. Well sure, it shapes your body into that much-desired hourglass shape, but I read that it gives you a deformed bone structure. Also, I've seen documentaries on women who wear corsets and they claim that corsets help you lose weight by controlling your eating habits.

How does it make you go on a diet? By making you eat less.

Since corsets are meant to be put on tightly, it limits the expansion of the stomach - so it forces you to lessen your food intake. In my books, that isn't so good.

I never really knew that there were different kinds of corsets too. And that you can get them in different kinds of fabric.

So is anyone here a fan of corsets?

What is it with underwear?

This is something that has been bothering me for quite some time now. What is it with underwear and designs? I mean, I see a lot of underwear that has really awesome and cute designs but what's the point of putting them there? It's not like you're going out without pants or skirts on right? The whole world wouldn't be able to see that smart "Eat Me" tagline or that pretty flower print anyway. Underwear are worn under clothes, so why not just print those designs on shirts where they can be ever-so-easily seen?

Different colored panties, I can understand. Bras too. Sexy lingerie can be excused since you probably wear those when you're on a special date with your partner and things heat up as the night progresses. But regular, everyday panties?

So do you wear these kinds of panties? Why?

What is it about Thongs?

No, not the slippers, silly! I mean thongs as the underwear, also called the g-string.

I can't really imagine myself wearing something that can cause urinary tract infection (see UTI). I don't think it can even be called underwear. It's too small to be considered one, in my opinion, and it's in between a person's butt cheeks!! But despite that, it really became popular ever since it came out, and I've been wondering why.

Sure, it saves you from those embarrassing panty-marks whenever you'd wear a tight-fitting pair of cotton pants, but wouldn't you feel like you have an everlasting wedgie as long as you have a thong on? It's such a hassle.

Anyway, do you like wearing thongs?
