Why Write Fantasy?

I get asked a lot why I choose to write fantasy romances.
It started with these three books. I got my hands on them while I was in 9th grade (Tom Browne Jr. High in Corpus Christi, TX).

They're not quite romances, but they're not young adult fare, either. But I was hooked. And I wanted more.

Fantasy allows you to escape into worlds away from reality. When you're a teenager in an abusive family, books are the best way -- and still are, in my opinion.

These books helped cultivate my fertile imagination. I started writing, and I haven't stopped.

Oh, and I still have my copies.
