Jeffery Montiero?

I haven't been the most impressed with Jeffrey Montiero- I have found that the fit is off in a lot of the pieces (what fits me from the waist down is way too big on top). But I am sort of LOVING these pieces he did for resort... Susan at Odessa did order a few of them, so I am interested to see what the fit is like (and the price point). Between Alison's collection and Jeffrey I may be able to fill the missing Mayle gap.

PS. I really love the blue striped dress AND the metallic one.

Early Birthday Present

I know I have gone on and on for weeks about how I couldn't find anything for my birthday here in PDX. I was about to get a Jeffrey Montiero dress from Susan at Odessa (which may still happen if I get some birthday booty because it was a chic little number) when Jon surprised me earlier today.

We were downtown shopping at Mario's and I saw an orange Hermes Medor watch. I have wanted this watch for over 15 years. At one point in the mid 90's it was incredibly "affordable" at $1200 the same way that Chanel classic flap bags at that time were also affordable at $1200. With time, the price rose (same with the Chanel's), to $1500, then to $1800, then completely out of my reach. Today Jon bought me the watch, and I have to say that I actually burst into tears in Mario's. Its something I have always wanted. I still cannot believe its mine. Its honestly one of the best gifts I have ever received. I love my husband, he is the absolute best.

107 and Rising

I went out last night, have 2 Singapore Slings and came home too buzzed to write. Yesterday was BRUTAL - at 9AM it was 86 degrees and by 3 it was 103 the night never cooled off, jut gt hotter and ended up clocking in around 107 at 5PM. I stupidly wore my newer Micheala re-edition from Metier with the Lotus print/rio plata mix. It now needs to go to the cleaners.

I went to the farmers market bought some blueberries and veggies, then walked to Nordstrom - they just received 1600 more pieces of luxury designer clothes. I am so broke I wish I could buy something. Prada dresses for $400? Lanvin leopard skirt for $385... if only I had a job. I also wonder who is going to buy these pieces? with unemployment here at 12.7% the store wasn't crowded and I just don't see that merch moving. Maybe it will go down just a tint bit more to 75% then I could see the Lanvin moving into my closet.

Amy met me for lunch at Fenoui and then we walked over for a meeting with George. After I walked up to NW 23 to see if the Missoni was still around and of course it sold like an hour before I got there. A coat sold on a 107 degree day. Go figure.

Sad, I walked to Odessa (Susan received some Jeffery Montiero fall pieces). I loved the red slouch dress. Its $495 - with my birthday coming up I may just tell people to get me an Odessa gift card so I can buy some of his dresses this fall. They were cute. Much better than spring/summer. Susan also has one denim Jeanne bag left - I feel like its on sale for 70% off I cant remember. If you are coveting some Mayle I suggest you buy it.

Nancy and Jake came over for dinner - I am a lousy cook so we had pizza from whole foods and a salad. Then I ran off to meet Tito and Chris to talk about Portland Fashion Week. All I can say is incredibly frustrating. Chris is a real estate agent. Tito in an engineer at Intel who loves "the glamorous life' neither of them get the fashion world - its all about PR for them. I can't even get into it - but I aired my frustrations to them (I mean I am doing this work for them for FREE) and they just couldn't grasp why I was unhappy not getting any credit for bringing them national magazine partnerships which the media here has gone wild about. Its a long story. I just have to pull back more if I see no results soon.

Today is supposed to be nicer. In the 90's. My in-laws are coming for a visit and are arriving in a few hours.

It's Friday, But Should Just Be Drama Day...

So I got really sick from taking all those sinus meds and my other doctor told me that I can take this one pill and be totally better from some issues I was having. WELL I should not have done it. I hate medicine, all those chemicals they just make you sicker and drag your body down.

As it turns out I had a terrible allergic reaction to that medication had to get some benedryl and pray that my throat didn't close. I ended up being ok, but it was scary. Now today I find out that my cholesterol is too high and the doctor needs to see me. Of course this makes me stressed because I don't eat fast food (though i do love cheese and the occasional cocktail a little bit too much) or fried food or junk food. I never had these problems in NYC and find it amazing that now that I no longer have a high stress job, or eat burger king for lunch on days that I was broke in NYC, I am worse off than before.

On top of all of that, Max is just not listening and its frustrating (raising my blood pressure I am sure). And I went to Odessa to check out the sale Mayle and Susan was super nasty which bums me out as I have stopped there on other occasions to check out Mayle and Jeferey Montiero and she was always nice. Maybe its because I haven't ever bought anything from her but after today with the snottiness I wont be shopping there again and with Mayle closed now I have money to burn.

At least its the weekend and there will be some reprieve....
