One fine mess.....
I'm not going to expound on this a lot. Except to say what a tragic mess.
Loss of life...and a huge hit to the coastal environment of South Louisiana and other States.
Offshore drilling is important to Louisiana, as well as the rest of the U.S.
We aren't against it. Yet one wonders at what price do we allow these large oil companies to come in and compromise our coastlines and our people?
Sadly, it's a bit too late now. I wish stronger safety nets would have been in place.
The rig/platform is down and gone...burned and fallen into the Gulf now. However the site itself is loosing oil at a unprecedented rate which the British Petroleum officials don't rightly even know.
This impact will be "Bigger than Katrina" is what we are being told as far as devastation, economic loss and loss to the coastal areas and to the coastal peoples of Louisiana.
We are praying that won't be the case, but it's not looking very good right now at all.
Pray with us that they can "cap" this well that is spilling gallons of oil into the Gulf. They can't seem to get this accomplished.
