A few recent things

Target is doing a line with Intuition from LA so I picked up this chain link necklace for $12, though I am not 100% sure that I love it. I haven't worn it yet. I sort of wish it was Stephen Webster's twisted chain masterpiece. But at $12? Who can say no?

Sweet Avignon

I picked up my Avignon today from the tailor and again Gein's did an AMAZING job taking the dress from an 8 to a 4/6. The original button was missing, so I found a vintage looking button at a notions shop and attached it - would love your opinions if you think it goes well with the dress. I cant wait for fall to wear this with some tights and my zebra cardigan.

Vince Shorts, More Mayle

Awhile back I found two pairs of Mayle "Vince" shorts from spring 2007. One was an 8 and one was a 6. I picked up the 8 for a friend and eventually worked up the courage to try on the 6. Over the course of three months they went from not fitting, to barely fitting, to fitting well (with the help of a body shaper). They also went down in price and I managed to snag them for $100.

They still don't fit EXACTLY how I would like them too - but now with some free time, I have no excuse to exercise right? I wore them last week with gladiator sandals, the lotus print zenith and a cardigan.

I love the brass detail along the pocket. These shorts take me that ONE step closer to the black and violet Vincennes dresses that I sold and now long for all over again.

Pink Lace Skirt, Mayle Of Course

I know I mentioned ages ago that I purchased a pink lace Mayle skirt at consignment for $76! I used to own this skirt years ago (it was in the same collection as the Barcelona dress- it came in cream and pink for the shop only). In 5 pounds it will fit much better than it does now, but its perfect with a tank and flats or heels. I adore the cabbage rose lace. Its so soft and femme.

I keep find it amazing that pieces that I parted with keep coming back to me.....

Sniffle Season Begins

I know that I have been lamenting about how I feel yucky lately (sinuses and such) but my husband just found out that he has pneumonia!! Its 80 degrees out and he is terribly sick. So today in my own incapacitated state I jumped into action caring for both my boys. Making breakfast, ushering Max to playgroup so Jon could have some rest, coming home and making lunch, picking up prescriptions all while trying to do my day-to-day (get shoes repaired, pick up my altered Avignon, help plan the first year birthday party for playgroup).

I am plum exhausted. Max will be in daycare for only half the day tomorrow (and Thursday) leaving me little time to rest. Next week he starts full-time and I have NO IDEA what I am going to do with myself. I already got one rejection email for a copy writing job that I don't even remember applying for! And I am lamenting fall clothes which I most likely can't afford to buy - Jefferey Montiero red slouch dress, some new flats, boots (tall and ankle) and a pair of men's inspired wingtips) until I get said job. Part of me wants to say fuck it and get a job at Nordstrom for $12.50 and hour but I know that it would depress me - and all my money would go to shopping.

My inspiration outfit for a happy day today was my amalfi federica, yellow cardigan and orange flats from spring 2005. I added a black cotton and lurex scarf from H&M (It was a bit chilly earlier) and a diamonte necklace from JCrew (thanks Kathleen!)

Wow. On Ebay

I checked Ebay this morning and there are a few pieces on almost everyone's covet list. I saw a Yves dress in Dove (I have this dress and adore it) in a size 6. Starting bid $99. There are a few snags and it has a ripped seam (though I just don't know why the seller didn't get it fixed, seriously, like $10 and less hassle)

Hera top in size 8 - as you know this was SUPER coveted. I have it in a 6 and its a great piece to wear anytime. Starting bid $99

Charcoal gray chambray clogs - I wish these were an 8, I would bid even though they appear very worn (again have no idea why this seller didn't clean these shoes up, its like a $20 investment). Starting bid $125

A gorgeous knit tank from fall 2005 - I used to have this top, but it wasn't very me. Its an amazing piece (and rare) size small starting bid $89
