This world is not my home.....

We used to sing this song a LONG time ago...."This World Is Not My Home, I'm Just A Passing Through"....
in fact for those of you who are "Glen Berteau" fans.....he used to play it all the time at church and it one was one of my friend Joanie's FAVORITE songs. HA! HA!

I've tried to find the lyrics that we sang but I can't find them anywhere.

I will have to call Joanie and reminisce about that......she may remember them. I'll have to try her later tonight and see if she can come up with them.

Anyhow......we are just passing through my friends.

We are supposed to be "Pilgrim's"....I love that for all it stands for and such.

It brings these thoughts to my mind when I think of......"just passing through."

"Pilgrim's Progress"..."The Pilgrim's"...."The Pioneers".....you know....people that are the "Bedouin" type.
Nomadic.

Gypsies.....yeah I like that. I have always had that "Gypsy" thing going on inside me....I don't know why....it really drives my husband nuts.......but it's fun for me to want to be somewhere.....just temporary.
And to GO, GO, GO.

Even if we just pull our home behind us. HA! HA!

Let's not forget that part in the middle of our daily grind....the "Pilgram" thing.
We ain't hanging here forever folks.

Wow.....notice that last line on the cartoon.
I just saw it when I blew up my site to edit this for mistakes.
Ouch!!! Good reminder.
If I remember my theology correctly...Ol' Maxine is right.

Reasoning

There is a reason
Nothing ever goes wrong. Whatever happens, happens for a reason.
When events don't go your way, there is a reason. When you don't achieve the desired results, there is a reason.

And precisely because there is a reason why things are the way they are, there is a way to change them. To achieve a different result simply requires a different cause.

Instead of assuming that the world has unfairly turned against you, seek to understand the cause of your misfortune. Once you know what's causing the result you don't want, you'll have a strategy for creating what you do want.

What you see as a problem has not been put in place to hold you back. It is merely the inevitable result of whatever is causing it.

Understand the cause, understand the reason, and you can change it for the better. There is a reason behind what happens, so make that reason work for you.

Tom Cruise, etc.

This morning I didn't feel so good.....so when everything aches....when I am able to I tend to linger longer in the bed. Because some days not much works body wise so I might as well stay put and just relax (yeah, right) and gather my thoughts until things kick in gear better.....which cam be overwhelming if I have stuff to do. But what I try to do most during this "holding" situation is PRAY.

This time is a good time actually because I have my eye mask on and it's dark.....yes I wear a sleep mask on my eyes because I am a very BAD sleeper and it has to be "very noisy and DARK" in my room for me to sleep.

I have to have a fan, the ceiling fan AND an air purifier that just makes noise of some sort. Crazy I know. But IF I hear a noise...it totally wakes me up. I guess that's a hold over from when my kids were babies and I was always "listening" in the night for them. Believe me....I STILL do! HA! I know am listening to see "what" they are up to.

So I wear those eye things. They are kinda cool actually. Sleep Chic. I can't sleep without them now...I have like 100 of them on my bedpost beside me in case one gets lost I have 99 more.
Sometimes they fall off your head in the night and I wake up and can see my IPOD stand light on so that will buy me and I have to grab another eye mask before I head back off to sleep.
I'm addicted now I guess.

Anyway back to the point here......sometimes we have to "stay put" and pray. That is so much harder for me to do when I am up and about......because I want to eat, and I want to clean and I want to read my mail and I want to do stuff online and see what's going on in the news all over the world.

I need "ponder moments" in my life and I have to make time for them.
I like to meditate.....not the eastern kind....but I like solitude and I like to pray and to think. We all need to do this.

Take some time and set it aside this week to ponder the things of God.

Even if it's in your bed!!! Stay in bed longer. OR go to bed early!!! I went to bed early last night so I could lay in bed and do my Bible Study home work.....then read some. It's relaxing. Try it out.

Whatever you can do to make it happen, just......pray.

I had so many people to pray for on my prayer list today and someone very different too.

I've had two dreams recently with Tom Cruise in them. They weren't anything weird....don't worry ...that's how God operates with me. It wasn't even a "Prophetic Dream" it was just the "you need to pray for this person dream." I know the difference.

When I dream about someone I KNOW I am to pray for them. Now, I have NEVER prayed for Tom Cruise before....in fact...I really am not a fan of his....I think he's a bit odd.....but IF I have a dream and he's in it and it happens twice..I'm no fool....I'm going to do what I know to do.
Tom got prayed for today, BIG time!!!

I'm glad I laid in bed a bit longer today regardless of the pain situation.....hopefully Tom Cruise will be too.

Where is Tony at???

Where is Tony Blair lately? I've not heard anything about him since he resigned his position as Prime Minister.

Well, I did see him on TV one time taking on his new role as a "Middle East Envoy" and he was getting on a train in London with his brief case and no help. He didn't have the tons of "security guys" around him anymore.
He was wide open. That's kind of scary after the important role he just held for all these years.

I don't know if "M15" was hiding somewhere in the train depot or maybe they had a new "James Bond" watching over him somewhere but it seemed weird to me.

Anyway.......pray for Tony. I know he needs it.

Don't you love this photo of him having a cup of tea? British men are very cool that way.

I bought my husband a very expensive "WEDGEWOOD" tea cup and saucer...something sort of "Manly looking"..one year for our wedding anniversary. HA!
Lovely gift huh?
But he was always teasing me that "he never had a special tea cup" like I did.

Well, that thing is currently in my china cabinet. Never to be used again.
I think he had maybe one cup of tea in it maybe??

Here's a nice tea quote for you today:

"Bread and water can so easily be toast and tea."

Now......isn't that a comfort????
I LOVE tea and toast......especially when I don't feel good. Especially when I DO feel good too. HA! It has to be "gluten free toast" now and that is not so great.

Oh well. "Chin up!" Could be worse.

FYI

Oh, and Elvis peed on Nadine.

It was pretty fucking funny

Brrrrrr......"Currently drinking".....and Prayer Requests

Right now I am having a cup of tea and I am having just regular "Twinings English Breakfast Tea"..that is my all time favorite tea.

I do mix it up a bit from time to time. A little "Blackberry Current" here and there....or some herbal teas, a little bit of this and that on occasion. I usually never drink more than one cup of tea a day......unless it's winter and I'm cold or don't feel well or something.

I haven't had any hot tea in a week or so now. Sometimes when I am dealing with certain health things...I back way, away from caffeine of all types. I don't drink any sodas but I do like tea. Hot especially, and this summer for some reason I have really been into cold tea.

This morning I went to meet with the "Pool Group"...Ms. Sandi is in Philly right now visiting and Norma didn't make it so it was just the other 4 of us....and MAN was that water ever cold......Brrrrrrr! It took some time to get adjusted to the temp but once you get moving it warms up. I mean it doesn't really warm up.....but you do!!

I'm glad I went because it was totally refreshing at the end, plus when we got out of the water we sat in the sunshine around Sandi's patio set and chatted a bit.

Now that I am home.....I had a hankering for a cup of tea. So that's what I am doing now as I write this and then will proceed to write some letters. I'm letting it cool down a bit because my teapot heats the water SO hot. That's a good thing though.

I have a "list of things" a mile long to do today and I have these important prayer requests today.

#1. Please Pray for Carole Turner who is having surgery today. PRAY that her recovery goes well and quickly.

#2. My Mom left a message on my answering machine while I was out and I haven't been able to reach her back but she was asking for prayer for my sister Jerri's Boyfriend's DAD......who is in the hospital and it's something bad and he's not in good shape. I am SURE that we need to pray for him regarding eternity.

#3. Please also pray for our son Caleb who is going through something very hard right now. He needs wisdom and he needs fortitude to do what is right.

We will chat more later......for now.......CHEERS!

I will never make it as a builder

Trevor and Nadine said they would see this on my blog…I said not a chance.

I was wrong.

I really and truly, even after being told this and arguing that I was completely capable and how could you even think that I am not, should never ever put together furniture. It’s not that I am not determined, or even excited about doing it, it’s that I do not have the patience to read the instructions carefully. I think I am, even to the point of getting frustrated with how complex they are, but I have to be honest with myself here: I don’t read them very carefully. Yesterday I chose to put together an end table that came in 14 different pieces (and that’s not including the millions of pieces of hardware). I was pretty ambitious, because after about an hour of struggling with it, I *thought* I was finished…only to realize I put some piece in backwards because the drawer is on the opposite side it is supposed to be on, and the wheels are lined up instead of being on opposite sides. For now it works, cause you can’t really tell…but I KNOW, and I will constantly look at it in disappointment until it’s fixed.

I contemplated not telling E because he would be so damn smug (he was the one who said I should let him do it) but I knew that if I didn’t he would someday figure it out, and the ribbing would have been worse. Thankfully, he didn’t rub it in.

Yet.
