Heated Ground Zero Mosque Debate at Restoring Honor Rally

I stumbled upon this video of a heated exchange between an absolute moron who thinks he's a reporter, and a well educated woman attending the rally. Enjoy...

I dug a little deeper to find out who this guy is. I found his Youtube Channel here. And here is his website, SumofChange.com.

Being the educated reader you are for viewing this blog in the first place, I will let you stroll around through the Sum of Change website, and decide for yourself just what side of the political spectrum they are on. Hint: CHANGE *cough* *cough*

This little man with the girly voice and feminine posture took it upon himself to attend both Al Sharpton and Glenn Beck's rallies that day.

He interviewed people at Sharpton's rally like this man, and had not a word of objection.

There stands Mr. Liberal Girly Man, behind his microphone and camera, nodding in smug approval while an ignorant man trashes the Patriots of the Revolution. Unbelievable. (Compare the above video to this one, where he continues to interrupt and challenge a mild mannered guy who tries to have a civilized discussion with him about Social Security...)

Along he goes to the Restoring Honor Rally.

"I'm going to catch some of these hateful, racist, white Teabaggers!" he says to himself.

And then he gets bitchslapped by an educated woman about the Ground Zero mosque. And after that, he gets his ass handed to him by this guy...

The End.

Moral of the story? Liberalism is a metal disorder, period. And all liberals can do to argue a point is stutter and run around like a chicken with their head cut off. Why? Because their viewpoints are hollow, their logic thin, and their grasp on reality non existent!

Good job "infiltrating" the Tea Party idiot!

Swedish Tourists Asked About The Ban On Hollywood Characters & Performers

It is interesting to note how many people have no idea what happened to the Hollywood Street Performers. Or the issues at hand concerning the (unofficial official) ban enforced by the LAPD. When the LAPD is asked they throw that the order came from the "City". When one contacts the elected City Officials (Eric Garcetti etc) no one will speak on the issue. Regardless, there is nothing wrong with having a discussion and attempting to make a positive resolution without the impending lawsuits. Yesterday, I asked some Swedish Tourists what they thought about the ban...

Day Fifty Seven: The View

Room view.

I'm in a place where being sad just doesn't exist. And it's pretty darn fantastic.

My friend Rosy and I have been talking a lot, which is apparently what I needed to do. Of course it doesn't hurt that I've been using a little "liquid courage" as a release, but she's got this gift of an unbiased ear that makes me spill my guts, So between our jabbering mouths and multiple cocktails--and did I mention the incredible scenery?--I can't help but smile all the time.

Beach view.

I've regaled my friend with tales from my childhood and current circumstances, often wondering where I was going with a story and then shrugging my shoulders with a laugh. I've talked about my Mom, Dave, the kids, my sisters, my Dad, and the collection of friends that have helped or hindered. I've openly wondered about future plans and wished for things that would seem foolish in another place and time. The directness of my thoughts and words are liberating, and I am feeling rested for the first time in months.

View of Rosy getting attacked by some waves.

There are moments in life that, when looking back, you can identify as a turning point. You say to yourself, there, that day and time--that's when I knew everything would be okay. Something clicks inside and the fog lifts from your eyes.

My eyes.

When I look back on my trip to Montauk, I'll remember this view and the calmness of my thoughts. I'll remember sitting under an umbrella on this beach, looking out at the crashing waves, and almost hearing that click in my head.
Sunrise this morning.

And I'll hold on to this and know it was simply good.

The second day of my beach getaway:

More dancing.

Moon on the beach.

Wish you were here.

Marilyn Monroe Gets More Jail Time For Taking Pictures Than Paris Hilton Does for Cocaine

Paris Hilton, another famous bleached blond was arrested for cocaine and released shortly after posting bail for a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. So imagine Marilyn Monroe (A Hollywood Walk of Fame Street Performer) was arrested for taking pictures and her charge, according to the officers, was blocking the sidewalk)...Hollywood Marilyn tells me her version of the latest on the Ban on Hollywood Street Performers...

Here Today and Into Eternity

Marianne, Guy and their daughters.......
Marianne was here one day......then gone the next.
Today was her "Homegoing".....and life will never be the same for this little family.

Please pray for these baby girls who have lost their Mama and this young Father and Husband who has lost his wife.
I promise you this couple was a "jewel" to this world.
And this woman was a great woman of God...and a beauty on the inside and the outside.

She will be sorely missed by multitudes.
But we have this blessed hope........that we will see her again.

"The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” Job 1:20

Please pray for this family.

Day Fifty Five: The Beach

Scenes from my beach day...

My sandy toes.

My sandy face.

The sandy...sand?

Me and my sandy friend. Cheers.

My thoughts on the Restoring Honor Rally

I will be honest. I had not even heard about the rally until maybe a week prior. I watched the majority of the rally via live stream online.

My overall view of the rally was somewhat bittersweet. Bitter, because I would have loved to see a little bit more fiery politics injected into it. Sweet because of the wonderful testimonies given by humble men such as Albert Pujols and others about Jesus.

While the Restoring Honor rally was advertised as apolitical, it certainly was not. Glenn Beck is a smart man and I believe his intentions are only the best. Unlike what the screaming children on the left would like you to believe, Glenn Beck is not some power hungry lunatic. I do believe he is sincere and believes in what he's doing.

In putting forth the 828 rally to the public as strictly a non political event centered around the attractive non controversial terms of Faith, Hope, Charity, and Honor, Beck has drawn in people from all corners of America and painted himself mainstream. His selection of speakers was top notch. Liberals are going crazy because of it. "Why in the world would people of color speak at a Glenn Beck rally!?" They can't seem to fathom it. And this wasn't just one or two speakers. This was nearly the entire lineup, including Martin Luther King Jr's own niece, Alveda King. So the, "Well he/she is just an Uncle Tom..." argument really doesn't work here. Lately, their main argument has simply been that all the minorities who spoke were just "sellouts".

??? And the Tea Partiers are racist?

Sooo, the entire thing was whitewashed and racist, except the fact that most all of the speakers were non white, but they are all just sellouts anyway so the event is still whitewashed and racist.

Riiiiiight.

I know I'm getting on a rabbit trail here but I must say it. The leftist mind is a twisted, twisted thing. Let's say hypothetically all the speakers were minorities (they basically were anyway besides Palin and Beck) and EVERY last person in the crowd was a minority. They would still say that those minorities are sellouts and not "true" minorities for being conservative. And why? Because they view any minority who does not make themselves a slave to the progressive handout Democrat party as a "sellout"/traitor. At the same time, they turn around and accuse the other side as being the racists! Anyone see a problem here? Anyway back to the rally...

You know what I think? I think the very fact Al Sharpton and race baiting liberals are criticizing Beck and the rally makes it all the more right.

You see, Beck is a very very clever man. By carrying out this rally without a single mention of Barack Obama or anything political, along with such a diverse array of speakers he has thrown himself into the mainstream. And now, there will be many who will associate his politics as mainstream as well. Which I believe they most certainly are.

Beneath the surface, this rally was entirely political. And while I would have loved to see someone like Herman Cain, Allen West, or Micheal Savage get up there and tear Obama to bits, this non confrontational approach was much more effective in battling the left. How can you criticize a group of 500,000 people who peacefully gathered to pray and honor our military? You can't without looking like a complete imbecile, and that is exactly what the left is doing to themselves at this very moment!

Now I'd like to move on to Sarah Palin. Now, you all know my views on Sarah Palin. I'm sure many of you will be offended, and I'm ok with that. I like Sarah Palin as a person and as an American. I do NOT like her as a politician. Just listening to her speak up there was difficult in and of itself, especially with her mention of John McCain. Seriously Sarah? Don't get me wrong, I love her politics. She is a true conservative. But she is no leader. Her entire speech was nothing more than another effort to groom herself for the 2012 run, which if nominated by the GOP, will give Barack Obama a second term. I am 100% certain of this. Palin's speech was something I'd like to forget about the rally.

Albert Pujols was my favorite speaker. His profession of his love for Christ was uplifting. I am a Chicago Cubs fan. Albert Pujols is one of my most hated "enemies" within the sports world. But by golly, I sure do respect him as a man. And to have the greatest player in professional baseball speak at the rally, along with his manager, makes the event all the more mainstream. The simple fact Pujols spoke may not have been an endorsement of Glenn's politics, but it appears that way and that is another win for the conservative movement.

Overall, the Restoring Honor Rally was a huge success. While many within the conservative ranks, most specifically the Randian libertarians and Ron Paul Campaign for Liberty crowd, do not believe in God, you still have to respect the sincerity of this event, and the way in which it was conducted. Like I mentioned earlier, Glenn Beck made this rally untouchable by not injecting politics. He made it impossible to criticize this event without looking like an uptight, extremist, moron. The left doesn't know what to do. They can't stand it. And they cannot resist attacking it. And by attacking it, they are only tearing down themselves. And that, is the most powerful aspect of all.

Day Fifty Four: The Space Between

It's almost go time. In less than 12 hours I'll be taking the train to the bus to the beach.

I don't want to go. The idea of me sitting with my feelings just sounds so, so...fragile. Does this make me fragile? Apparently my sisters and Dad think I am. And I received an email from a friend today that seemed to support this version of me. When I read his email (and I know he meant well, so please don't be mad at me for saying this) I just felt so sad for the person he was talking about. You can imagine how disappointed I was to realize that person was me.

Maybe it's the lack of sleep that makes me write such pitiful blog entries, but I'm writing what I'm feeling and it's without prejudice. It's catharsis. It's breaking off a piece of my sadness and anger and then setting it free. And when I'm done with my writing, I can go on with my day with a lighter load.

There's this space between my words on this screen and what I am actually feeling. I know that it may not be obvious, but it's there.

Pictures from Glenn Beck's 8/28 Restoring Honor Rally

And my favorite part of the whole thing. Listening to Albert Pujols speak.

Paris Hilton Busted for Coke In Vegas

With Lindsay Lohan getting so much attention these days, it was bound to happen. Paris Hilton a few days after being burglarized by a knife wielding suspect and then subsequently appearing on her roof top in a towel where a news helicopter captured the images, decided to retreat to Vegas with her boyfriend. According to reports, Las Vegas officers smelled marijuana emanating from the SUV she was driven in. Upon inspection of Paris' purse they found cocaine. Hilton and her driver were booked and then released. Here's Paris on a better day outside Moods of Norway....

Glenn Beck 828 Restoring Honor Rally! Massive crowds already. Updates every 15 minutes!

It is 10:30 eastern time and I'm watching the Glenn Beck rally online at http://www.ustream.tv/restoringhonor# .

Already there seems to be a massive crowd, and 85,000 more watching online.

Somehow, I wonder what Barack Obama is thinking deep down about this rally. Its entire character seems to be the antithesis of everything Barack Obama is. Faith. Military. Conservatism. And honor of course, nothing Barack Obama would know about. And to see his adversary Glenn Beck display his power in such success on the national stage has to be a thorn in his side. The rally takes numbers 1,2, and 7 at Google Trends at the present moment.

More details and pictures of the rally to follow...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

10:47 ET- 92,000 viewers watching online. Estimated 500,000 at the rally. And Sarah Palin is speaking. Blegh. Talk about a buzzkill.

10:58 ET- 98,000 viewers online. Glenn Beck just spoke. Now giving out his faith, hope, and charity medals. I hear St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa and slugger Albert Pujols are on hand. They just earned a load of respect from this Cubs fan.

11:08 ET- 104,000 viewers online. As I watch here on the live stream I'm seeing some idiotic comments from people such as...America was not founded on religion. Is that why God is mentioned in nearly every political document the Founders wrote? What a tard. Now listening to an amazing speech by a Native American PATRIOT who puts faith in Christ, honor, and love for America above all else. That was encouraging.

11:09 ET- Just introduced pastor CL Jackson to the theme song of Fanfare for the Common Man! Talk about chills. Is the Tea Party still racist? Or is CL Jackson just an "Uncle Tom"?

11:17 ET- 108,000 viewers online. CL Jackson just gave an amazing speech on Christianity and faith in God. That man is an American hero!

11:21 ET- Tony LaRussa just introduced to announce the medal for Hope. So happy to see him there, even if I hate his team! The rally now has numbers 1, 2, 4, and 5 on Google Trends!

11:28 ET- 111,000 watching online. Albert Pujols introduced as the medal winner for Hope. Talk about inspiring. Listening to him speak was amazing! Just read a great comment from a viewer: "Pujols mentioned Jesus more times in a few minutes than Reverend Al (Sharpton) will all day." So true.

11:39 ET- 115,000 viewers online. Emma Houston just announced to speak for Jon Huntsman Sr. for winner of Charity. A lot of minority speakers here. I think it's a great thing! The libs must be squirming like a worm on a fishhook!

11:42 ET- Well done Emma! "We shall rejoice!" I'm sure God is looking down on this wonderful gathering and smiling.

11:45 ET- Glenn Beck is kissing MLK's butt. You do know he was a communist revolutionary right Glenn? I will never have respect for Micheal King. The only part of this rally I do not like so far.

11:50 ET- 117,000 online. King's niece and now Alvedica Tucker singing! Uh oh libs! Not so whitewashed is it!

11:53 ET- That was some of the worst singing I've ever heard. Sounded like a cross between a broken violin and an adolescent singing karaoke. Oh, well it's the thought and words that count!

11:57 ET- 119,000 viewers online. Not digging this whole 'Southern Baptist' thing. Just too cheesy and fake.

12:04 ET- King's niece is giving a nice speech about unity and her uncle. She's saying a lot of good things. Dr. Alveda King is a great American!

1:05 ET- 128,000 viewers online. Glenn Beck closing out the rally with a rousing speech. The rally holds spots 1,2,3,4,5,7, and 10 on Google Trends! Conservative power at its finest.

1:10 ET- Amazing Grace with bagpipes. A wonderful end to a divine inspired gathering which will be remembered as a historical moment in American history!

1:14 ET- Restoring Honor rally now holds spots 1 through 8 on Google Trends.

Day Fifty Three: "Save Me"

Decisions, decisions. Me searching for jamon iberico in Madrid, 1995.

"An eager desire; a craving; a morbid appetite; an earnest wish; an aspiration."

Longing is not an easy emotion, especially when you feel it and don't know how to deal with it.

So what do I long for? There are so many things, like a continuous peace, a calm mind, and a restful night. But what I most desire is for someone to come out of the shadows and guide me through the minefield my life has become. I'm stuck with one foot in the air and I don't know where to take my next step.

I spoke with a friend today who lost her Mom a few years ago and realized this feeling of longing is going to stick around for a while. This scares me because I just don't know if certain people in my life can take much more of my sadness. Heck, I don't know how much more I can take of my own sadness.

Here is the next song in my mixed tape by Aimee Mann, the queen of sensitive sad music. The title says it all.

Ugh! Get ready to get depressed.

The Two Sisters Have Arrived....

We got into our hometown late last night after a crazy day.

As you can tell I STILL have "camera" issues. A mix up with UPS which was supposed to deliver my camera by 10:00am...caused me to delay our departure into Missouri. The camera never arrived..and finally we had to leave or else.

After many hours on the road...my sister got herself a nasty speeding ticket. I will say on her behalf....that she wasn't paying attention to the speed because of talking and just having had passed a semi truck while she had a quick moment to do so because of road construction.

WE did think the speed range was higher than it actually was and there is a TON of major road issues...with only 2 lanes open on the Interstate...one each way. UGH!!
After shedding tears...real ones...in the State Troopers car and having her ticket in her hand.
We headed back off onto the roadway that was lit by one of the MOST beautiful and BIGGEST Moons we had both ever seen.

Someone called it the "Green Harvest Moon!" It was so nice..and a bit creepy. HA!

Two things that happened yesterday.

My husband and our son that works for him both, along with 6 other employees of the company they all work for lost their JOBS!! With only 2 days notice from the owner.
We were a tad bit upset...but we have RE-grouped and we realize that GOD is in CONTROL of our lives and HE only has our best interest at hand here.

So something will work out for us Mahans.

Secondly...PLEASE, please all of you that read this pray for our former Youth Pastor and his wife.
We received the saddest email today stating this.......

Subject: Guy & Marriane

hey you guys, sorry if this is repeat news for some of you. i wanted to just get the word out for prayer support.

Marianne had a seizure yesterday and was found not breathing and unresponsive facedown on her bed. she has been in icu for about 24 hours now on breathing machines. her body is not 'warming back up' after the seizure to reboot like it should. there is swelling on the brain and still no response. the doctors will try to 'warm her up' after another day or so-it's alot of waiting now.

they did just get a blood test where some toxin levels were lower. so that was good news! It is really by a miracle that she will live.

Guy & family are of course really shaken up. Lots of family and some ppl from back home are driving/flying to be with them (they have been church planting near dallas the past 2 years).

you guys please pray with us; every time it comes to mind, for her full healing and recovery and for guy and the girls at this time."

This is so hard on my heart right now...even more than my husband and son losing their jobs.

I will write more later...we have had a great and interesting day today in "Twaintown"...but I can't write anymore tonight on this hotel computer. I've been in it way to long.

More to come soon...and hopefully....photos at some point. I'm using my sister's camera for now but can't download until I get back to Iowa.

See ya'll SOON!!

Day Fifty Two: A Lost Tooth and "The Final Countdown"

The tooth before it fell out.

Last night my son Mack lost a tooth.

The only problem was that he accidentally ate it. When he realized what he had done, he tried to regurgitate it back up, which made me shriek at him. Disgusted by the whole spectacle, my daughter Masana threw her hot dog on her plate, crossed her arms, and announced that she had lost her appetite.

Actually I did, too. But then I felt horrible for reacting the way I did once I saw the tears well up in the boy's eyes. Dave tried to comfort Mack by pointing out that the tooth wouldn't stay in his body, that it would come out the other end. When he said that, I thought, and then what, Dave? We go through the boy's feces until we get his tooth?? I shot Dave a deadly look and he quickly changed the subject. But he got the message: there would be no Tooth Fairy visiting Mack that night or subsequent nights.

Lately, I am not a roll-with-the-punches kind of gal. I know that I could have come up with a creative solution if my head were not so loosely attached to my shoulders. Instead of maybe suggesting that we write a letter to the Tooth Fairy to explain the situation, I flatly said that Mack shouldn't be too upset for this one little missed opportunity and we couldn't do anything to fix the situation. There would be other loose teeth in his future and he could look forward to that.

Today I kept thinking how I let Mack down and how incredibly tired I've felt. Putting on a happy face is hard work. And how ridiculous is it to say that I'm tired of feeling tired?

While I'm sad that my Mom is not alive anymore, I think that I am more affected by the people who are still here. I can deal with the loss of my Mom; I can't deal with the strange behavior of the select few who make my life miserable. (They shall remain nameless because it would be unfair to call them out here and now.) So I've decided to remove myself from this current reality and head--where else?--to the beach. Just me and the sandy shores of some place other than here.

But not to worry. My "tipple" friend is coming to keep an eye on me, and because someone's got to hold my hair back when I talk to the porcelain god.

I leave in 3 days. Let the count down begin. This Europe song from the 80's will be my anthem until then, cheesy metal hair and all.

Europe/The Final Countdown

Boris Kodjoe Illuminati Tattoo?

I noticed that Boris Kodjoe and another man on the set of The Undercovers were sporting the same unique Tattoo (a black hand with a number in it if I remember correctly). Anyway, here is the video...

Bees Hijack Helmet in Santa Monica

Imagine taking a nice stroll on the Santa Monica Pier and returning to find a swarm of bees hijacking your helmet. That is what one proud owner of his motorcycle found on his return to his bike. The incident lasted a few hours and the police had to cordoned off the area until the Bee Keeper came. Meanwhile tourists came very close to check out the buzz. The Bee Keeper handled the situation like a pro. He had a box, he removed the bees with smoke and where the Queen Bee went the bees followed. The bees luckily didn't sting anyone but did leave a little bit of honey in the motorcyclist's helmet.
